An Innovative System to Extract Plastic Debris Out of Slow Flowing Urban Rivers Using Nothing but Air-Bubbles
by Philip Ehrhorn
// Step One
Successfully show that air-bubbles can be utilized to extract plastic debris out of slow flowing rivers. The technology already exists but has never been used for this matter. Within my Bachelorthesis the basic proof of concept will be delivered.
// Step Two
Building a prototype and installing the system in a river or canal right here in Berlin. It won't be a fullscale system but it will have the same efficiency. I'm aiming to demonstrate the simplicity of the system and thus one of its big benefits.
// Step Three
After successfully testing the prototype the environmental compatibility has to be evaluated. So far there are only positive impacts known from the system but it needs to be clarified professionally nevertheless.
